Academic guidelines for FEU Alabang, Diliman, and Tech in response to the extended Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Posted: April 22, 2020
To the college students of FEU Alabang, Diliman, and Tech:
Our learning context today – challenged as it is by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic – is not the most favorable of circumstances. Nonetheless, the FEU Group of Schools has remained committed to delivering quality education throughout this ordeal. But, as you well know, continuing to push on with the learning activities has presented all of us with unexpected challenges, to which the solutions we have adopted have been difficult for many of you to adapt. The silver lining is that the ECQ occurred toward the end of the second trimester with only the final assessments needing to be done.
In consideration of all your concerns and difficulties, FEU Alabang, Diliman, and Tech will end the Second Trimester of SY 2019‒2020 on May 18, 2020, with the following guidelines to close out the term:
- Final examinations for all courses are cancelled. In general, final grades for this trimester will be based on midterm exams, quizzes, and other requirements. For courses that have capstone projects or are on a project-based learning (PBL) mode, requirements must be coordinated directly with program heads.
- For all second trimester courses, an online, alternative assessment will be made available upon request. You may also submit pending course deliverables for additional credits. Requests and submissions must be coordinated with your respective program heads and accomplished and handed in on or before May 15, 2020.
- For these same courses, necessary assistance such as review and tutorial sessions as well as consultations with the faculty will be provided.
Looking ahead – despite the continuing adverse circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic – we deem it imperative that we keep moving forward in our education mission. Enrollment for the Third Trimester of SY 2019‒2020 will be from May 19 to June 7, 2020, with classes beginning on June 8.
Let us choose to exercise our core value of Fortitude to build a more resilient Tamaraw nation that is not cowed by challenges to learning.
Be braver still, and stay safe.
